Some carriers opt to process authorization and claims through third-party administrators like One Call Care Management, Careworks, HOMELINK and 1st Choice DME. In these cases, Activ8, Active System, and OrthoPods are billed with the HCPCS codes and modifiers listed below:

Pre-authorization services
OrthoCor offers pre-authorization services to providers who wish to prescribe PST devices for their patients through Workers’ Compensation. After submitting the necessary materials (a written order, statement of medical necessity, and medical records) OrthoCor can pursue authorization from the carrier on behalf of the prescriber as the billing provider.
Once OrthoCor receives a determination from the payer, we notify and pass the determination along to the provider. When the order is approved, OrthoCor ships the device (and OrthoPods, if necessary) directly to the patient.
